The FFPI Story
Freedom Fire Protection, Inc. (FFPI) began as a concept in 2005 and officially became a full-service fire protection company in 2006. FFPI specializes in new and existing commercial and residential fire sprinkler systems, underground fire services, system inspections, repairs, and on-call emergency services.
Our fire protection company is family owned, and we pride ourselves on superior customer service, quality workmanship, expertise, and reliability in our field of trade on any and all projects we work on, no matter the size. We are interested in building long-term relationships with our clients.

Much of our business has been repeat clientele and word of mouth referrals and for that we are extremely grateful. It is also our priority to ensure our employees maintain a top level quality of work in the field and stay safe on our job sites. We have an amazing team of office and field personnel to assist you with your fire protection needs.
All of our fire protection specialists are educated and certified through an almost 5-year program by the California American Fire Sprinkler Association (CAFSA) and licensed by the state of California, Office of the State Fire Marshal. To maintain their licenses, each fire sprinkler specialist is required to complete 30 hours of continuing education every 3 years.

Fausto Velasco
President

Fausto Velasco is Co-Founder and President of FFPI with almost 40 years of experience in the fire sprinkler industry. His expertise is in client relations, commercial sales, estimating, and project management. He earned his C16 Fire Protection Contractor’s License in 2005. Fausto is the lifeline of this company. It is because of the relationships he has built over the years in this industry and the integrity he lives by that FFPI is what it is today.
Cyndi Velasco

Cyndi Velasco is Co-Founder and CFO of FFPI and has over 20 years of experience in the fire sprinkler industry. She began her fire sprinkler systems expertise in residential and commercial design, estimating, and project management. Her current and most important role is serving as the Business and Resource Manager, working behind the scenes to ensure FFPI is continually growing in our trade and moving forward.
Mike Velasco

Mike Velasco is Co-Founder and Fausto’s youngest brother. He is a Commercial Estimator and Project Manager and has experience as Superintendent and Field Operations Manager. He has over 25 years of expertise in the fire sprinkler industry from commercial installations, underground installations, repairs, field employee training, field management, and quality control.
Edgar Velasco
Commercial Construction Manager & Inspections Specialist

Edgar Velasco is also a Co-Founder and middle brother to Fausto and Mike. He has over 30 years of experience as a fire protection specialist. He is our lead inspections specialist and interim Construction Manager. He has expertise in commercial installations, repairs, field employee training and field management, safety and quality control.
Junior Mengenhauser
Commercial Estimator and Project Manager

Junior Mengenhauser is Fausto’s right hand man and has been with FFPI since 2009. His expertise is in consultation, commercial tenant improvement estimating and project management and new client relations. He has 20 years of experience in construction project estimating and management prior to working with FFPI. He takes his job to heart and FFPI is blessed to have him on our team.
Hugo Rodriguez

Hugo Rodriguez began working with FFPI in 2016. He runs our Residential Department, providing project estimates, facilitating design, scheduling, and installing for all our contracts. He also is a project submittal engineer working closely with all our project managers, ensuring all projects are submitted timely to AHJ.
Virginia Gallardo

Virginia joined our team in January of 2022. She has an been an amazing addition to our team and has learned the ropes quickly. She keeps our office organized and on task. She also assists the project managers with setting up new projects and processing the contractual and administration documents.
